MX (Mail eXchanger) Record

What is the meaning of MX (Mail eXchanger) Record?

MX Record is a Doman Name System (DNS) record and is extremely important to your emails’ smooth delivery. It redirects any email to a specific mail host while identifying the right location to send the email to.

We can define the MX record in basic DNS terms as a record that shows which email servers are accepting incoming mail for your domain. It also shows the expected routing destinations of emails sent to your domain. You will only receive emails if your MX records point to the right location.
